About Us

Daniel Kushner, M.D. is the Medical Director of Mid Westchester OB/GYN. He is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist M.D. After graduating from University of Pennsylvania in 1998, he entered SUNY Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Kushner earned his M.D. in 2003. Dr. Kushner went on to complete his residency program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montifiore Medical Center in 2007. He has full privileges at White Plains Hospital. Dr. Kushner is fluent in Swedish and proficient in Spanish.

“I enjoy being an Obstetrician / Gynecologist because of the opportunity it gives me to improve my patient’s lives. I pride myself in my ability to listen carefully to the needs of each individual patient as well as being able to convey information in a calm and respectful manner.”

Samantha K. Kesten, WHNP-BC is a board certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in women’s health. After graduating from the University of Delaware in 2007, she continued her studies at Columbia University, receiving a B.S.N. and M.S.N. from the School of Nursing. As a Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Kesten works in collaboration with the healthcare team. She is proficient in Spanish and Italian.

“As a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, I consider myself to be a passionate and proactive clinician whose main objective is to provide each woman with the fundamental tools she needs to take control of her gynecological health and overall well being. My mission is to provide exceptional, individualized, compassionate and comprehensive care to all women across their lifespan.”

Aliye Runyan, M.D. Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, Aliye graduated from the University of Miami Miller SOM. She did health policy and medical education work in the DC area from 2012-2014. She then completed ob-gyn residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.

Aliye’s career interests include family planning, international public health, reproductive rights, medical humanities and wellness, and medical education.

“I chose obgyn as a specialty because of the incredible opportunities to advance women’s health and take care of patients across the spectrum of their lives, including planning their families. Besides my clinical work, I am a consultant on medical education and policies to increase access to reproductive health care for all populations. This practice is a wonderful environment- everyone is welcome here – consider us your medical ‘home’!”
